RU On Board is a one-day board game festival organized by Rowan University student and staff associated with the Honors Program’s board game club. The festival will feature all types of board games but one of the goals of the festival is to introduce “modern” board games to a larger audience. These games – designed by folks from all over the world now – come out of a game design tradition in Germany. Principles of modern game design include elegant rules that minimize randomness and luck, shorter play times, secret scoring and a lack of player elimination, and wooden instead of plastic components. Some of the Honors board game club’s favorite games include Dominion, 7 Wonders, and Agricola.
Letter from the co-director, webmaster, student event organizer, person... thing...Hey everyone!
This was originally going to be a mini convention, but time ran out to organize the wonderful convention we wanted to offer to you. Next year, the Board Games Group from the Bantivoglio Honors Program at Rowan University will host the first annual RU on Board board games mini convention at Rowan. Keep an ear open for it! But for now, we invite you to take part in the fun-packed [free!] board games festival we are holding in lieu of the convention for this year. See you there! ~Brittany |
How much does it cost? It's free!
(except for the MtG prerelease) But you still need to register! |
